Registration for the Copernicus workshop on Climate Observation Requirements, which will take place at ECMWF from 29 June to 2 July 2015, remains open until 11 June.

The workshop will help to develop the observation-based part of the Climate Data Store, a key element of the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) being implemented by ECMWF on behalf of the European Commission.

Speakers from a range of international agencies and national meteorological services will talk about observation requirements for climate service applications, model evaluation and reanalysis.

More details on the workshop and information on how to register.

Separately, a Copernicus climate change communications workshop will take place in Brussels from 16 to 17 June.

At this event, which is being organised by Sustainability Consult on behalf of ECMWF, expert communicators will come together to discuss the challenges of climate change communication from economic, political and scientific viewpoints.

Copernicus is the European Union’s flagship Earth-observation programme. The programme ensures the operational monitoring of the atmosphere, oceans and continental surfaces and will provide reliable, validated information services for a range of environmental and security applications.

ECMWF will operate the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (CAMS) and the Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) on behalf of the European Commission until the end of 2020.
