The annual meetings of the Computing Representatives and the Security Representatives took place from 11 to 14 May 2009.
The meetings offer the possibility for exchange of information and for cooperation on the provision of IT infrastructures and services between ECMWF and Member and Co-operating States and organisations.
The 21st Computing Representatives' meeting was attended by 24 delegates from 22 organisations. The meeting focused on recent developments of the IT infrastructure and services at ECMWF and in the Member/Co-operating States and the respective plans for future activities. Specific emphasis was put on the resilience of computer infrastructure and services, the experiences in the integration of Linux and Windows services, and on experiences in server consolidation/virtualisation.
