Summary:

Main responsibility is for the delivery of the operational production suites. This involves:

  • Leading the integration team managing the hand-over, integration, testing and implementation of changes affecting the operational production systems. 
  • Planning and coordinating the development and maintenance of the operational suites with other groups at ECMWF and in Member/Cooperating States.
  • Organise and participate in the team's on-call support.
  • Part of Change Management Board at ECMWF.
  • Also help run the ECMWF training course on ecFlow.
Professional interests:
  • Numerical modelling: Post-doctoral work on modelling of optical scattering and previously to that on Galerkin techniques for modelling electromagnetic fields
  • Software design, testing and training
  • Change management in an operational environment
  • Over 20 years project management experience: Prince 2, Agile
  • Efficient running and optimisation of operational systems
  • Knowledge transfer from research to an operational environment
