Member State meetings are part of ECMWF's ongoing process of maintaining contact with Member States and Co-operating States. The aim is to provide forums so both ECMWF and Member States can present information that is relevant to each other.
Computing Representatives
Each Member State and Co-operating State is asked to appoint a 'Computing Representative', to improve the information flow and facilitate various administrative transactions between ECMWF and countries that have access to ECMWF's computing services. Computing Representatives have access to their own portal where they can find additional information useful to fulfil their function.
The Computing Representatives' meetings provide a forum where views and experiences are exchanged between ECMWF and the Member States and Co-operating States. They are scheduled as required, with the interval between meetings being typically between 12 and 18 months. During these meetings, representatives are usually asked to give a presentation outlining their countries' involvement in the computer service at ECMWF.
Security Representatives
ECMWF organises annually a meeting of Security Representatives. Each Member State and Co-operating State is asked to appoint a 'Security Representative'. The purpose of the Security Representatives' meetings is:
- to review the status of the security arrangements at ECMWF and in each Member State and Co-operating State and to discuss planned development;
- to provide a forum where views and experiences are exchanged between ECMWF and the Member States and Co-operating States.
