TAC subgroup on the future direction of GRIB at ECMWF

At its 52nd session the TAC set up a subgroup to review the future direction of GRIB at ECMWF.

It nominated Tomas Karlsson as Convener and adopted the following terms of reference:

1. to investigate potential options for the future direction of GRIB at ECMWF and provide insight on these options, to ensure that ECMWF will be able to deliver its strategy in a way that is approved and supported by the Member and Co-operating States;

2. to provide a clear recommendation on the future direction of GRIB, which will be added to ECMWF’s Data Format Implementation Plan, including an estimate on how much additional resource this is likely to require.
