ECMWF held an "Industry Day" for potential suppliers on its upcoming Bologna Data Centre on 16 January 2019.
The aim of the Industry Day was to provide attendees with information about the development and implementation of ECMWF’s new data centre in Bologna and on the tenders that will be issued during the first quarter of 2019, for the procurement of goods and installation services in the areas of cabling, racking, servers, disks and storage, network and security, and electrical equipment.
We presented the planned approach to procurement, including the expected schedule for the release of invitations to tender. We provided further details on the services regarding installation, configuration, testing and commissioning to the data centre.
